5 Star Review Great battery

Strengths:

2x the life of normal battery

Weaknesses:

size, dimensions

Posted Jun 25, 2007 - This battery is great. If you place your laptop on a desk, then it really doesn't matter since you can adjust the tilt of your screen. If you use your laptop on your lap, then you may not appreciate the battery hanging out one side. The battery seems last a little longer than twice a normal battery, which is great for people who travel, work or go to school. The battery really doesn't weigh much more than a regular one.

4 Star Review Two times or better than 6 cell battery

Strengths:

- Works for more than 5 hours. - Height of laptop increases. (more suitable to type)

Weaknesses:

- Weight of laptop increases.

Posted Apr 13, 2007 - I bought battery after I got frustrated with the 6 cell battery which did not even last for 2 hours. So, decided to invest in this battery and now I have been using it for around 15 days now and it is great. Works for more than 6 hours easily, and depending on the display brightness and hard disk access it varies little better or worse. I think it worts to buy this 12 cell battery than to buy a new laptop which doesn't also work for more than 3 hours. So, i am very happy with this 12 cell battery from HP.

4 Star Review A great option to consider

Strengths:

Seems to provide MORE than double the useful time between charges vs. the standard 6 cell battery. Sticks out, but provides a useful grip for pulling my laptop out of my sleeve/briefcase.

Weaknesses:

Sticks out, and therefore elevates the back of the computer, slightly altering the typing angle. This may bother some very picky people, but not me. Adds just a little more weight to the computer.

Posted Feb 29, 2008 - The biggest (and only one that comes to mind) complaint that I've heard against this battery is that it sticks out instead of being flush with the bottom of the laptop case. I did not find this to be an issue. Especially in light of the fact that it seems to give me more than 4 hours of time between charges, while I never got 2 hours from the 6 cell standard battery. Why double the numbers of cells (12 vs. 6) gives me more than double the useful life is a mystery to me, but I'll take it. Plus, I have arthritis in my hands and with the standard/flush with the case battery installed, I had a hard time pulling my computer out of the sleeve I carry it in. This battery allows me to have a "grab point" for pulling the computer out...no worries about dropping it.

4 Star Review Finally a better battery.

Strengths:

Notebook life increased anywhere from 5 to 6 hours.

Weaknesses:

cost, weight.

Posted Jan 31, 2008 - I did not like the battery that came with my notebook, it would hardly last 2 hours, so after reading some reviews I decided to get this one. This battery is so much better than the first one, lasts twice as long, the only thing I don't like is its really heavy and combined with the notebook's weight, the notebooks becomes even heavier. Also its not cheap, but what is nowadays.

4 Star Review Notebook life increased!!

Strengths:

Lasts longer. Tilt isn't bad.

Weaknesses:

Money, Weight

Posted Jan 31, 2008 - I like the tilt from the battery actually it helps to type, but to carry it around it could be a pain. Definitely increases the notebook's weight, but at the same time give a notebook 5 hours to work without having to plug in. If you will be carrying your laptop around the weight alone will bother you. I can't wait till they start WiTricity. ;) 4 out of 5.

4 Star Review Good product with serious lifespan

Strengths:

True fit. Longer life than 6-cell offers greater mobility.

Weaknesses:

Bulky. Creates an odd angle for typing when on a hard surface (e.g. desk, table, etc.). Generates significantly more heat than 6-cell.

Posted Oct 27, 2007 - Good product that should be given serious consideration if you need/want longer "unplugged" usage than a 6-cell in your HP Pavilion. Just be aware that if you're used to a 6-cell's flat resting position within the computer base, this battery will make the computer feel extremely elevated at the rear - which puts the wrists at an odd angle when typing (unless on your lap) and takes some time getting used to. Not a show stopper complaint but a nuisance that should be noted.

4 Star Review What life this battery has!

Strengths:

Long life, extra rubber grips

Weaknesses:

3/4" protrusion from bottom of laptop

Posted Aug 27, 2007 - I ordered my dv6500 from HP with the original 6 cell battery, and I was very dissatisfied. However, with this battery I get more than twice the life I originally did. The only problem I have with it is the fact that it sticks out from the bottom of the unit.
