The CLP-300 is a high quality color laser printer with a tiny footprint. Measuring only 10.4" h x 15.4" w x 13.5" d and weighing only 30 lbs, the CLP-300 is one of the smallest printers in its class. The easily movable printer delivers beautiful color at 4 ppm and sharp laser text at 17 ppm (monochrome). The CLP-300 features the NO NOIS print engine, that you'll find in the professional series printers, giving you quiet operation (Less than 49 dBA printing) and simple toner changes. Despite its small size the CLP-300 has huge output capacity with an average monthly duty cycle of 24,200 pages. minimize

2 Star Review CLP 300 Laser printer

Strengths:Small size, good price

Weaknesses:Life of printer is very short

Posted Nov 13, 2008 - I loved this printer for about 10 months, then it started doing I've seen other reviewers complain about - lousy print quality. No satisfaction from Samsung whatsoever. When I buy another printer (which will be soon), it will not be a Samsung and from my experience with their support I won't purchase any other product from Samsung

1 Star Review Noisy, constantly jams

Strengths:Will fail quickly so you can go get a new printer

Weaknesses:Jams constantly, and is very loud

Posted Jun 13, 2008 - I have had nothing but problems with this printer, and emails to Samsung go without response. It takes about 30 minutes to get a print. I have to hit print, then remove the paper, reinstall the paper tray, turn the printer off, then on again, and hit print again. And agan, and again. Once it decides to actually take up the paper properly and print, it gets out one or two prints and stops. Then the rigamarole starts again. It also makes a very loud clicking sound. I will do more research next time. For now, I get my prints at Copy Max.

3 Star Review Great size, muddy results

Strengths:Smallest color laser available as of 11/06

Weaknesses:text and image edges not as sharp as other laser printers

Posted Nov 2, 2006 - The CLP-300 is very impressive as a color laser printer. However during all my initial tests, the text and images did not have the razor sharp edges we have come to expect from laser printing. I showed to a friend who works on printers for a living and he says the printer is laying too much toner on the paper which results in the "fuzzy edges." On the plus side, if you want the least expensive color laser that can print checks with MICR toner (magnetically readable at banks & retail stores) this printer can do it if you add a MICR toner cartridge from checksnet website.

5 Star Review Best Printer I've Had

Strengths:Small, compact, excellent printouts.

Weaknesses:None

Posted Sep 1, 2007 - I love this printer. Nary a problem. Had for 9 months now and still running on original toner cartridges. Selected Samsung because I had their B/W laser and never had a problem. Picked it because it was the smallest and most energy efficient. Reasonably priced toner cartridges available at Cartridge World.

4 Star Review good for most basic usage

Strengths:easy setup and super quiet

Weaknesses:problems with software installation

Posted Nov 28, 2006 - small and easy hardware setup out of the box, extremely easy. I have 3 pc's connected to the internet using a router and a switch, no file/print sharing installed on all xp pro pc's. Original software installation would not work, I used add printer and pointed to drivers on cd, while designating a 192.168.0.6... local ip in the port specifications on all pc's and it works on all pc's. Strangely sometimes it doesn't when sending a large color image to print. So for basic homework and such it's fine, hopefully drivers/install will get better with time.

1 Star Review This is a CHEAP printer!

Strengths:The price is very low.

Weaknesses:However, the printer quality, and the lack of service makes this a poor buy! Further, the cost of toner is very expensive..making this printer one of the most expensive cost-per-page printers.

Posted Apr 25, 2008 - I owned this printer for 13 months when the transfer belt developed a small tear--creating a smudge on every page. Samsung was quite blunt "The tear happens when there is an improper usage/physical damage." The cost to replace the belt? $153 plus shipping! Right now, I can buy this printer from Future Shop for less than the cost of the belt (plus shipping.) I understand the economics of spare parts vs. consumer items, but when a simple part costs MORE than the item itself--and I have to install it myself there is something rotten in the state of Denmark! The price of spare parts (and toner) speaks louder than I can about the marketing ethics of this company. (Incidentally, the President of Samsung has been charged with tax evasion! Hmmm.....)
